WHAT ARE LISTENING CLUBS?

They are events in which people come together to listen to an episode and have an open dialogue about it. It is a simple but powerful model. Listening to stories in the community helps us strengthen ties and get to know each other better.

HOW DO I FIND A LISTENING CLUB IN MY COMMUNITY?

We designed this platform so that you can easily identify if there are already listeners organizing Listening Clubs in your community. You can search on the map, or filter directly by country and city.

AND WHAT HAPPENS IF I CAN’T FIND A LISTENING CLUB IN MY REGION?

You can create your own Listening Club. The first thing you can do is register for the meeting on this website so that other people in your region can see the event on the calendar and join.

APPROXIMATELY HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO ORGANIZE A LISTENING CLUB?

It is a simple process that we describe in detail in the ‘Organizers Manual’. The most important thing is to secure a place and date and to get in touch with those who are going to attend. Once you have that, responsibilities can be shared so that it doesn’t all fall on you.

HOW LONG DOES THE LISTENING CLUB LAST?

Normally between 90 and 120 minutes. That includes the time it takes to listen to the episode and the community conversation.

HOW CAN I GET IN CONTACT WITH WHO ORGANIZES THE CLUB OR WITH WHOM THEY ATTEND?

Those who create a Listening Club on the calendar will include a link to a closed group on Facebook or a group on WhatsApp. When you find a Listening Club in your city, be sure to join the group so you can communicate and agree on logistics before the event happens.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO USE THE LISTENING CLUBS LOGO TO PROMOTE THE EVENT?

I’M GOING TO HOST A LISTENING CLUB IN MY APARTMENT. CAN I GET IN CONTACT WITH THE PARTICIPANTS IN ADVANCE?

When creating the event, you can choose two categories: open to the public or ‘contact the organizer beforehand’. If you are going to do it in a public place (bookstore, cafe, library, etc.), we recommend using the first one; If not, it’s best to contact those planning to attend to privately give them your address. In any case, keep in mind that all the information you post when creating an event will be public to other people.

WHAT WILL YOU DO WITH THE INFORMATION I LEAVE WHEN I REGISTER ON THE PLATFORM?

We use the information to help coordinate Listening Clubs. We will not share the information of those who register on the platform with third parties. It is for the exclusive use of Radio Ambulante.
